A freediver was caught in an unexpected current and made a rapid return to the surface.
Honey Lil Arellano wanted to pass through the narrow gap between coral reefs off the coast of Siargao Island when the waves pushed her off in Surigao del Norte, the Philippines.
Footage shows Honey Lil fighting to pierce through the current but it was too strong for her.
The freediver and professional mermaid swimmer than made a quick turn and glided back to the surface.
She said: 'We thought our only challenge would be the big waves until we reached the smaller Daku Island and tried to swim through the caves.
'It was extremely strong and hard even for certified divers to pass.'
