A mother Tibetan fox was spotted teaching her cub to hunt in northwestern China.
The heartwarming video was filmed in Qilian Mountains National Park in Gansu Province on June 14.
The grey-yellow mother fox, a Tibetan fox - a species of small canid living in the high cold grasslands - took on the role of guardian and teacher. She was seen shifting her position frequently, squatting, and lying low to keep watch for potential threats while imparting invaluable survival lessons to her young.
The cubs, following their mother's lead, were seen diligently and patiently learning the craft of discovering and capturing their main food source: rodents.
Tibetan foxes typically weigh between one to two kilograms and measure approximately 25-30 centimetres in length. They are a species under second-class state protection in China.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
