Three years after Elvis’ return to America, Priscilla’s parents allowed her to move out to live with Elvis’ parents so that she and the singer could date. The pair started a more serious relationship and married four years later. At the time of the 1967 wedding ceremony, Priscilla was 21, and Elvis was 32.
Priscilla and Elvis stayed married until 1973, though their marriage was turbulent. Elvis cheated on Priscilla while out on the road, and Priscilla found herself constantly paranoid about the fact. She tried to accompany Elvis wherever he went to make sure that no women were able to sink their claws into him, but this proved unfeasible.
Priscilla’s fears weren’t unfounded, as there were numerous women that were interested in getting their hands on Elvis Presley. One of these women was former Bond girl Ursula Andress, who desperately tried to hook up with Elvis while the two were starring together in the 1963 feature Fun in Acapulco. Despite Elvis being open to cheating on Priscilla, he denied Ursula’s advance because he didn’t want to face the wrath of her then-husband, director John Derek.
Although Priscilla and Elvis Presley eventually divorced, Priscilla still maintains a great deal of respect for the singer many decades after his death.
