Bing Crosby has the most recorded voice in history, selling over 500 million records altogether. His smooth, crooning voice is one of the most recognizable in the industry. He is a beloved household staple for millions of families, especially during the Christmas season. Tragically, he died unexpectedly of a heart attack after a round of golf at the age of 74 in Spain in 1977. He had seven children between two marriages. One of his sons, Gary, wrote a damning memoir about his life with his father Bing that called into question Bing's squeaky clean family man and doting father image. Bing's reputation was somewhat damaged after the memoir came out. However, his other children have been outspoken about their brother's claims and their authenticity.
Two of Bing's son's had a tragic death. Dennis and Lindsay suffered from depression, despair, loneliness, and alcohol abuse. They shared the same fate, dying by suicide in an identical manner a short time apart. Bing Crosby's legacy lives on through his many movies and hundreds of hit songs, and he died while doing one of the things he loved most in the world - Golf. One of his last statements before his death was, "That was a great game of golf, fellas." His true last words that came before he took his last breath, however, referenced a certain soda.
Bing lost his first wife, Dixie Lee, at the young age of 42 to ovarian cancer. Dixie had her fair share of vices and was said to have been struggling with alcoholism until the day she died. Bing remarried his second wife, Kathryn in 1957. Bing's children with first wife Dixie are Gary, Dennis, Phillip, and Lindsay. His children with his 2nd wife, Kathryn, are Harry, Mary, and Nathaniel.
