A family tackled a deeply muddied motorway as they drove through a rural road.
Footage shows a grey Toyota Innova manoeuvring through off-road terrain in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, on March 5.
The vehicle can be seen navigating the muddy path, becoming half-submerged in the process, and wobbling until it reached an upslope.
The region experienced severe rainfall, leading to scattered flash floods that caused challenging road conditions.
The filmer said: 'This road leads to Kayan Hulu District, which falls under the authority of the provincial government. However, until now, there has been no attention from the authorities.
'For decades, we have had to use such poor infrastructure. The local government has taken no action, whether through public consultation, road maintenance units, or any other means. The road is severely damaged, especially around 3 to 4 km before the town.'
A study revealed that many rural and remote regions in Indonesia, including parts of Kalimantan, Papua, and Sulawesi, suffer from damaged, unpaved, or impassable roads.
This year, Indonesia's budget cuts to the Public Works and Housing Ministry led to the suspension of infrastructure projects and reduced spending on road and bridge maintenance, further delaying upgrades and repairs.
