Did you know that French model and actress Capucine was said to have been bisexual and that she had an extramarital affair with actor William Holden that lasted for two years? Capucine was a French actress and model that remains best known to the world at large thanks to her roles in a few notable films, including 1963’s The Pink Panther. Despite the modest success that she received in the entertainment industry, Capucine was rarely found to be happy throughout her life and attempted suicide several times. In her 60s, she finally succeeded. Having only been married once in her lifetime and having never had children, she didn’t leave much of a personal legacy behind… just a few cats!

Capucine never had any intentions of getting involved in the entertainment industry but ended up being swept into it after being spotted by a commercial photographer at the age of 17. From there, Capucine worked successfully as a model before transitioning to French film. In the mid-1950s, Capucine ventured out to America and worked as a model in New York City. It was here that the star was spotted by a film producer, who then asked her to come out to Hollywood.

After coming to Hollywood, Capucine made her English-speaking debut on American cinema screens via 1960s Song Without End. She continued to work in Hollywood for several more years throughout the ensuing decade before returning to Europe and continuing working in films there. The actress worked consistently up until her 1990 suicide, though her star had faded significantly by that point.

Despite one single marriage that only lasted for six months during the early days of her career, Capucine remained unmarried over the course of her lifetime and never had any kids.
