Cybill was hired onto Moonlighting first, and she read with nearly 20 actors before Bruce auditioned. Cybill felt the chemistry immediately, and Bruce was subsequently hired onto the show to be her costar. During the early days of the show’s production, Cybill reportedly initiated a romantic encounter between the two that ended with them making out at the actress’s house after sharing a bottle of wine. Before things got too far, the two decided to keep things professional.
