Although Frank remains best known for his time as the Riddler on the 1960s series Batman, he did a great deal besides performing that iconic villain during his time in the entertainment industry. By the time that Frank was cast as the Riddler, he had already been in the industry for over three decades! However, the role would prove to be the biggest success of Frank’s life, even earning him an Emmy Award nomination. Given that Batman was a fairly campy series that many critics didn’t take seriously, this nomination could be seen as doubly impressive.

There is a lot of interesting trivia to learn about Frank Gorshin, including the fact that he made his debut on the same episode of The Ed Sullivan Show that the Beatles did! Other interesting factoids include the fact that Frank smoked up to five packs a day, and that his final performance was directed by Quentin Tarantino.
