Before marrying John Lennon, Yoko Ono was married to an alternative artist by the name of Tony Cox. In 1963, Yoko and Tony had Kyoko. When Yoko left Tony for John Lennon in 1969, Tony decided that there was no way that a Beatle was going to raise his kid. After a series of custody disputes that saw the courts award Yoko and John visitation rights, Tony took Kyoko and fled. This then resulted in a manhunt that spanned the 1970s, during which Yoko and John used up every resource they had to try and find the girl.
Despite Yoko and John is one of the most famous couples in the world, they failed to find Kyoko and her father. It wasn’t until many years later that an adult Kyoko sought out her mother on her own volition. Today, Yoko and Kyoko remain close.
