A woman found the tiniest turtle in a drain while walking her dog before taking him home so he could grow stronger.
Natalie Kilbourne was trying to get her 10,000 steps in near her home in Ozark, Missouri, USA, on May 5 when she spotted a tiny, green circle at the side of the road.
Adorable footage which has been viewed more than 400,000 times - shows the 43-year-old lean down to take a closer look before lifting the baby red eared slider off the ground to check he was ok.
After returning him to a nearby stream, the turtle which Natalie has named Filmore Pickles was still in the same place the following day so she currently has him at home so he can grow stronger.
Natalie said: I had never come across such a tiny turtle before. His cuteness and tiny size brought a smile to my face instantly.
I also felt it was my responsibility to ensure his safety and protect him from potential dangers like being eaten or getting squished by a passing car.
When I found him he was over a mile from any water. I brought him to a nearby stream and when I came back to check he was in the same place.
I decided to name him Filmore Pickles. He was slightly larger than my thumb, but I estimate his diameter to be about an inch.
I was concerned he may be hurt so I have him and hes doing great. I do plan on releasing him when hes a little bigger and stronger.
Something that everyone should know is that baby red eared sliders carry salmonella so it is super important to wash your hands if you touch one.
