With Vice President Kamala Harris becoming the new Democratic front-runner after President Biden suddenly dropped out of the race on Sunday, her coconut tree meme has resurfaced and gone viral, with members of her own party getting in on the action. NY Post reporter Ronny Reyes shares this story.

In the last 24 hours, Democratic governors, senators and PACs have voiced their support for Harris while mentioning coconut trees or adding coconut emojis to their posts.

The meme stems from a random moment in a speech Harris gave in May last year as she was swearing in commissioners for the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics.
