The medical action drama series Emergency saw actress and songstress Julie London play the character Dixie McCall RN. London always had this uncannily calming presence and she had the looks to boot. Her character's very nature was enough to ease the troubles of her ailing patients while at the same time soothing the viewing audience as well.
London played that character on the now-iconic series for 126 episodes. Previously her career saw her play a diversified range of roles that garnered her quite a bit of acclaim as well.
