Dusty Anderson started her career as a model and made her film debut as a cameo appearance in the movie “Cover Girl” which starred Rita Hayworth. She also featured in a couple of movies, including Tonight and Every Night, A Thousand and One Nights (1945), and The Phantom Thief (1946).
Although she was always a secondary character in all of her movies, she did not go unnoticed and then went on to be a pin-up model during World War II; She appears on the cover of October 27, 1944, and December 14, 1945, issues of Yank, The Army Weekly.
Later on, she got married to Captain Charles Mathieu of the Marine Corps and got divorced after the second world war due to domestic violence.
Shortly after finalizing her divorce, she remarried Hollywood Director Jean Negulesco, which marked the beginning of her art career as he was an artist from Rome at the time.
She began painting and did well, and she eventually had several of her artwork on display at an exhibition.
After getting married to Jean Negulesco, they tried having a child, but she miscarried a couple of times, and the couple was advised to stop trying to protect her health. This was a big blow for Dusty, who wished to start a family. She eventually adopted two children, Tina and Gaby, in 1959 and fulfilled her desire to start a family.
Dusty’s career, although brief, was eye-catching. It was a classical case of those shining the brightest - burning the fastest. The brilliant model-turned-starlet Dusty Anderson was on magazine covers and the silver screen. While her rise to fame was meteoric, she lacked the talent to become a big movie star and was quick to move on and pick up painting which she excelled at.
