Elton’s notorious for being one of music’s biggest divas. His obscenity-filled tantrums are famous, and his demands have included changing the weather. Even his fans aren’t safe from his antics. He doesn’t seem to ever want to be near them, flying away and storming off stage whenever they get too close.
Even giving off the appearance of lip-syncing during a performance is enough to stir up Elton’s wrath. This was the main reason his most famous feud with Madonna began, but it also made him sling insults at other artists such as Janet Jackson.
Elton also has no respect for reality show performers or judges. He insulted Leona Lewis, winner of the X-factor, for not going through the traditional recording industry process the way he did. He also developed a feud with equally outspoken talent show judge Simon Cowell who feels he needs to give away a bit of his wealth to help new artists instead of insulting reality talent shows.
Elton’s antics and insults make it difficult for him to keep friends. He lost his positive relationships with George Michael and David Bowie but regretted it when they died. He also has a back-and-forth on-and-off feud with Rod Stewart.
Not all of Elton’s feuds lasted forever. Princess Diana wasn’t pleased when he put the royal family in a magazine next to nearly-naked models, but they made up just before her tragic death.
