But who was Tura Satana? She was a Japanese-American actress who had a short but fruitful acting career. She had a few television appearances and appeared in a couple of B-movies. But these B-movies became massive hits and are still considered classics among fans and filmmakers today.
Tura Satana was one of the first Japanese-American actresses to rise to prominence and perhaps the best-known sex symbol in her community. She wasn’t just a beauty, however. She was also lauded for her incredible acting skills as well as her capability to perform stunts.
In short – Tura Satana was the real deal. She studied martial arts from a young age as a response to a traumatic incident that she experienced. She spent much of her adolescence getting into trouble as well as pursuing a career as a model and a dancer.
Her beauty and charm were noticed by Harold Lloyd who told her that she was destined for a career in the cinema. She decided to pursue an acting career in the 1960s and she couldn’t have started at a better time!
She garnered a reputation for being a professional who wasn’t afraid to stand her ground and add her input to a film. She also was loved by many adoring fans and had many wonderful relationships – including one with a rather famous singer!
