If you’ve seen the film, then you’ll remember the Collinson Twins. These were twin sisters Mary and Madeleine who starred in the film. They also were Playboy Magazine’s first twin playmates. They were among the most popular celebrities of their era…until they disappeared.

The twins were born on July 22, 1952, in Sliema, Malta, when it was a British colony. As young teenagers, they traveled to the mainland of the United Kingdom. It was during the late 1960s when they were spotted by photographer and filmmaker Harrison Marks. He helped launch their career in printed advertisements.
This soon led to their appearance on the centerfold of Playboy Magazine. This brought them national fame. They were then cast in the 1971 horror film Twins of Evil – which made them into huge stars!
They appeared in one more film following Twins of Evil and made a few more media appearances throughout the 1970s. Shortly after, they disappeared from the public eye. Not much has been known about what they did after they stepped away from the limelight.
Madeleine Collinson died in 2014 in the town of Msida, Malta. Mary Collinson died in November 2021. Her death has led to a resurgence in interest in the Collinson Twins, and many fans are curious as to what the twins did after they stepped away from the limelight.
