The recording artist was married to a stuntman by the name of George Montgomery for two decades, during which time period the pair had two kids. By the time Dinah became romantically involved with Burt, she felt that her childbearing years were behind her. Meanwhile, Burt had yet to have any kids and was anxious to start a family of his own.
It was Burt’s desire for children that caused him to break things off with Dinah Shore. The actor regretted it for the rest of his life.
