Jack Barry was an American game show host, television executive, and media personality who was best known for his work on game shows. Well, beyond that, he had a pretty nasty reputation for his involvement in one of the biggest television scandals of the mid-20th century, but we'll get to that in a moment. Throughout his career, he hosted a number of game shows - quite a few of which he helped develop alongside producer Dan Enright, with their jointly operated company Barry & Enright Productions.
While Barry at one point was held in high regard by the viewing public, his reputation took a major hit that he never really recovered from due to his admitted involvement in the now-infamous 1950s quiz show scandals. The fallout from that controversy adversely affected his career to come. While he never stopped working in television, he was never quite able to find the same kind of success that he once experienced at the height of his career before the fallout of the scandal brought his self-made quiz-show empire crashing to the ground.
