Lou Ferrigno was born on the 9th of November, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. He came from an Italian-American family of simple means and his father was a police lieutenant. He had big dreams as a young man and wanted to become a big star when he grew up.

As a young man, he was bullied due to his speech impediment which many thought would impede him from having a successful career. Yet he was insistent that he’d become something and someone great in life.
He had a natural inclination toward athletics and decided to pursue bodybuilding which was becoming the craze. It wasn’t long until Lou Ferrigno became one of the most well-known bodybuilders of his generation – competing alongside stars such as Arnold Schwarzenegger.
As his profile grew he also decided to pursue a career as an actor. He knew that this was the key to ultimate fame and what would make him immortal when he could no longer pursue a career as a bodybuilder.
Lou Ferrigno became best known for his role as The Hulk and while many have taken on the role, it’s still his portrayal that we remember the most and that remains an inspiration for all the actors who have come after him.
But of course, this journey hasn’t been an easy one. Lou Ferrigno has had a life full of ups and downs but if there’s one thing that’s remained consistent, it’s his persistence. He never gave up and now in his 70s, he’s still just as busy as he’s ever been.
Lou Ferrigno has lived a rich life and he’s just getting started. He is still working as an actor today and is still looked upon as an icon for aspiring bodybuilders and to anyone who wants to achieve their dreams.
