In this video, we’ll be taking a look at some of the pin-up industry’s most notable models. Some of the models that we’ll be taking a look at include Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, and Rita Hayworth. Marilyn Monroe may be better known nowadays as a Hollywood star, but she actually got her start as a pin-up model. Marilyn first showed up in Hollywood during the 1940s, securing a contract with 20th Century Fox. Not much came of this initial Hollywood excursion, but Marilyn would later find fame as a pin-up model.
After becoming famous as a pin-up model, the doors were opened up for Marilyn to finally become a Hollywood star. However, the actress still had personal demons to deal with. Marilyn could never truly enjoy her fame on account of her substance-abuse issues. She ended up passing away at a tragically young age during the 1960s. Bettie Paige is another pin-up model that rose to prominence during the 1950s only to leave the world behind in the 1960s.
While Marilyn Monroe escaped from the public spotlight via her tragic and untimely death, Bettie escaped from it by simply disappearing. Bettie left the entertainment industry behind and nothing was heard from her for decades. Shortly before her death, the former pin-up model returned to the public spotlight to share her thoughts on her legacy.
