Were you a fan of the classic 1960’s band and TV sensation, The Monkees? They gave us decades of great music, fun TV appearances, and classic performances. But sadly, all but one of the Monkees has left us. Starting with the death of Davy Jones in 2012, followed by the deaths of Peter Tork in 2019 and Michael Nesmith last year, the Monkees numbers have dwindled in the last decade. Now Micky Dolenz is the only Monkees member remaining. And the deaths of his friends and bandmates have been a difficult thing for him. In fact, he has said that he still has trouble processing the fact that they are gone.

We also dive into each of the members, to look at how they ultimately met their demise. We cover Davy Jones first, who died in 2012 in Florida. Then we take a look at Peter Tork, whose sickness and death was a very public and documented process. We go over how Peter shared his journey fighting cancer with his fans, hoping to keep going to play more music for them, as well as to educate them about his disease and raise money to fight it. Then we talk about how Michael Nesmith was in the middle of touring with Micky Dolenz when he suddenly developed health issues that ultimately caused his death a couple years later.
