Did you know that many of the cast members of The Last Picture Show are still alive and working today and that some of them are still big Hollywood stars? The Last Picture Show was a 1971 period piece that revolved around two high school seniors coming of age in a small Texas town during the 1950s. Stars Timothy Bottoms and Jeff Bridges played the two main characters. Meanwhile, an incredibly impressive ensemble cast, including such stars as Cybill Shepherd and Cloris Leachman, supported them.

Many of the stars that appeared in The Last Picture Show are still around today! Actor Jeff Bridges is arguably as big of a star as ever, while Cybill Shepherd still continues to work as both an actress and a model. Although Timothy Bottoms hasn’t seen the same career longevity as Jeff and Cybill, he still pops up occasionally and saw an unlikely career renaissance in the early 2000s impersonating George W. Bush. Many other stars from The Last Picture Show are still around, including Ellen Burstyn and Randy Quaid.
Ellen Burstyn went on to appear in The Exorcist and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore after appearing in The Last Picture Show, while Randy Quaid has gone on to appear in blockbuster films such as 1996’s Independence Day. Other stars from The Last Picture Show’s main cast, including Ben Johnson and Cloris Leachman, have sadly passed away.
