When George was filming Syriana, there was a scene where his character needed to be tied to a chair and beaten profusely. George was tied to the char for real, and the chair ended up being knocked over during the scene’s filming. Since the actor was bound, he had no way of preventing his head from hitting the hard floor directly. When this happened, it caused a brain injury that the actor would suffer significant effects from for an entire year.
The reason that George Clooney suffered for so long after his head injury was that doctors couldn’t figure out what the problem was. Eventually, they were able to diagnose that the actor had suffered a tear to the connective tissue surrounding his brain. According to the man himself, the pain he felt during this time period was so profound that he considered taking his own life.
