That meant that he didn’t have to provide testimony or reveal any documents he had connected to the former president. The committee didn’t see it that way. He was already out of the Oval Office by January 6, making him unable to receive such a privilege. That’s why they held him in contempt of court. They had to put him on trial for not honoring his subpoena.
It put the other major case he was dealing with on the back burner. The fraud allegations he faced connected to the We Build the Wall campaign will have to wait. He’ll face trial for them another time, but the other case needed to be solved first. The contempt of court battle is a more high-up and federal issue. Steve has asserted his innocence in both cases, but it’s not enough. The federal case recently took a sharp turn. Steve Bannon is headed to prison.
He is facing four months in prison in Danbury as a result of the contempt charges. He has no regrets and says he’s proud to go to jail. He considers himself a political prisoner under the thumb of the other party. He hopes it will lead to some sort of change in the country. Steve’s opinions won’t be silenced in the meantime. His daughter is keeping up his War Time show so that his voice will still be heard.
