Initially, the producers of Hart to Hart wanted to cast Natalie Wood in the role that would end up going to Stefanie. It was Robert Wagner who insisted on Stefanie’s casting, claiming that he would have better on-screen chemistry with her. This decision also proved fateful in another way, as Natalie Wood would go on to tragically die a few years into the show’s run.
