Despite their similarities, these two personalities often clash. Alyssa has clashed with all of her costars at one time or another over differences of opinion. The hosts are split along party lines, and that creates division between them. They argue over issues such as presidential candidates and their campaigns and bullying. The freedom of the show allows anyone can chime in whenever they want. The problem is that often leads to shouting matches where no one gets heard and not much gets said.
There have been times when it’s gotten so bad that the show’s been forced to cut to commercial. Whoopi serves as the moderator who tries to get things back on track and makes the decision to end it when necessary. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t gotten in on the action as well. She is just as willing to defend her opinions as any other co-host. The show seems to thrive on the drama. It keeps viewers coming back to see what’ll happen next. It’s almost as much a reality show as it is a news show. Their shouting matches can be informative when they’re clear enough to understand and entertaining when they’re not.
