Info from Licensor: "This is Reese (the baby beast) aka Camping Dog!! She is 18 years old. She is a dachshund who lives in Southern Ontario, Canada. She has many adorable frosted features from aging. She has a white face, white paws, white belly, and white butt. The hair on the inside of her ears is white, and she is also speckled white down her neck and back.
This video is from our camp trip to Wakami Lake Provincial Park (in northern Ontario) at the end of July of this year. We were there for 10 days.
This is her on a morning walk through the campground. The mornings can be very chilly there, and this was taken on a chilly morning. She is bundled up in a thick fleece sweater I made her and her winter jacket, which is from Noodle and Friends (a dachshund clothing company in the States). The multiple layers are cumbersome and restrict her movement, but nothing stops Reese!!
Dachshunds can end up hopping when they run in their older age. Reese also has Cushing's Disease which destroys muscle in the hind legs. So its easier for her to run in a hopping fashion, and its gosh darn adorable. But shes doing great! She is in great physical and mental health.
After the walk, we went back to camp to get snuggly on our camp couch. We had a site right on the water and our camp couch was in a spot with a great view of the lake. Reese loves to sniff the breeze that comes off the lake.
Reese is so full of life and spunk still in her old age. She gets just as excited about going out into nature as she did in her younger years. The outdoors is her happy place. She would hop and explore all day if I let her! She is a very determined lady. When you have a dog as adventurous as Reese, you unfortunately have to play the role of the fun ruiner. Because she really would go until she fell over.
I gave Reese the moniker Camping Dog as we have gone on many camping adventures since we started camping back in 2020. Reese has visited 15 camp parks over the last 4 years. I have taken many videos and pictures of her on her adventures. I post them on Reddit in the r/dachshund and r/OldManDog subs. She has a loyal following of die-hard fans there. I post because she brightens so many people's days."
