According to Sally, both she and Burt knew soon after filming wrapped that there was something more to their fling. The pair ended up having a several-year-long romance that became tabloid fodder on account of both stars’ celebrity. Burt was the older and more famous of the two, and Sally claims that she soon felt she was losing her identity in the relationship as a result of his controlling demeanor.
Burt and Sally’s relationship only lasted for around four years before Burt broke up with the actress because she refused repeatedly to marry him. Burt went on to marry television actress Loni Anderson, who was his second wife altogether. Sally went on to marry someone else, as well, with her spouse also happening to be her second. Oddly, both Burt and Sally would divorce from their second spouses in 1994. Burt never remarried a third time before his 2018 death, while Sally has never remarried, either.
