After being crowned Miss USA in 1973, it was only a matter of time before Lynda started appearing on television. Her earliest roles came via guest-starring spots on television series such as the aforementioned Starsky and Hutch. The success of her guest-starring turns opened up the doors for Lynda to play the character of Wonder Woman. Lynda debuted as the character in a 1975 television special, and the special was followed by a television series in 1976.
The CBS network had initially been unsure if the television audience was ready to accept a female superhero. However, their gamble with Wonder Woman paid off!
