She had a prolific career on stage, in cinema, and on television. She had an incredible range and could perform in comedic and dramatic roles with ease. She could also be considered as the perfect talk show guest – just watch her appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

She came from a show business background. Her mother was an accomplished dancer, and her father was involved as a stage manager and eventually became a network executive. While Suzanne Pleshette didn’t consider herself to be a natural actress, she studied acting in high school and then studied further under the great Sanford Meisner.

Suzanne Pleshette’s early career began on Broadway. While she started out as a supporting actress, it wasn’t long until she landed lead roles. Soon enough, she became a recognized face on American television.

She spent much of her career appearing in one-off roles on some of America’s most popular TV shows. She also was notable for her work in TV movies. She later had recurring roles on The Bob Newhart Show, Bridges to Cross, and Nightingales. Later in her career, she appeared in Good Morning Miami and also had cameo appearances in 8 Simple Rules and Will and Grace.

She also acted in feature films. One of her most famous roles was as Annie Hayworth in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. She also appeared in the comedy film Support Your Local Gunfighter and was also in the family film Oh God, Book II. She broadened her range even further and became a voice actress during the final years of her career.

She passed away in 2008 but remains one of America’s most popular TV actresses. She also had a great career on stage and in cinema and is an inspiration to any aspiring entertainer.
