Simpson was acquitted of the charges, though he ultimately lost a civil suit and had to pay millions to the families of the victims. But the saga of OJ Simpson was far from done. In the past 3 decades, he’s written a tell-all book about the murders, bizarrely fashioned as if it was a hypothetical situation, and he’s essentially admitted to the murders in interviews, and reportedly to people he knows. But he can’t be charged again for those crimes, per the law of double jeopardy. Then in 2007 he and some cohorts kidnapped and robbed people in a Las Vegas hotel, leading to his arrest and incarceration.
He served nine years in prison, before ultimately being released in 2017. And as of 2021, he’s free without parole. But the OJ saga never does seem to end. In the end of 2021, a Miami newspaper published an article about a script going around Hollywood that purported to be the true story of a man named Charlie Ehrlich. In it, Charlie is not only aware that OJ committed the murders, but he was an accessory to the crime.
It’s a whole theory that actually has some teeth to it, given that he and OJ were reportedly close in real life, and he was one of the people arrested alongside OJ for the Las Vegas robbery. In this video, we’re taking a look at all the bizarre twists and turns of this sordid tale. Stay tuned, as Facts Verse presents: OJ Simpson's Murder Accomplice Takes His Story Public.
