Jill St. John was born Jill Oppenheimer on August 19, 1940, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents weren’t involved in show business but recognized their daughter’s talent and interest in performing at a young age. Jill began taking ballet classes as a young girl and dreamt of pursuing acting as well.
She began her acting career as a child and appeared in TV movies and TV shows throughout her childhood and her teens. When she became an adult, she began appearing in feature films and by the 1960s, she had established herself as one of the most well-known actresses in major comedy films.
She was also famous for her beauty and this led to roles such as Tiffany Case in Diamonds Are Forever and Pat in Sitting Target. She became known as a versatile actress as well as a beautiful starlet.
