Leah and Kevin brought life and heart to the Heffernans. They also kept up the bickering the characters were known for behind the scenes. Occasional fights over everything from minor disagreements to worries over the show ending surfaced and made romantic scenes a bit awkward. The two couldn’t even look at each other sometimes when they had to kiss.
The romance was difficult for them, but maintaining a friendship never was. Leah never tried to convert him to Scientology, and he supported her when she left the church. They always saw each other as family and also became close with each other’s spouses.
