Huge grizzly approaches fisherman

A fisherman remained incredibly calm as a hungry bear walked past his feet while looking for food.

David Koestler was fishing at Mammoth Lakes, California, USA, when a grizzly bear, known locally as Cinnamon, wandered over to his spot and checked out his bait box.

Tense footage shows the bear believed to be between three and four years old then sniff the fishing rods at the side of the lake looking for food.

Cinnamon then walked directly past the fishermans feet before heading off down the shore while David calmly says that was cool.

David said: The bear was about one foot away from the soles of my shoes. Cinnamon always comes around and takes campers' food, fish from there stringers and loves to drink the beer from the coolers.

He normally just walks around you from a safe distance but he is getting so unafraid of people that he hopes you run so he can steal your stuff.

He doesnt stay around for very long just looks for food and moves on. I was happy to see the bear come around as he usually makes his rounds around the same time every day.

I will say it was very amazing and scary all at the same time. We see bears all the time and have learned to live with them and them with us.

They just want to eat, not hurt us. If anything, peoples cars kill up to five bears a year up here and that is really sad.
