An angry male elephant charges at a couple driving through Kruger National Park, South Africa, leaving them terrified.
Footage captured on May 15 shows Tianyang Li and her boyfriend, who was driving, encountering an elephant blocking the road.
As the jumbo spots the vehicle, it begins shaking its head and trunk whilst charging towards the car.
Li told Newsflare about her terrifying experience: "It was on our first self-safari trip in Kruger National Park in South Africa. My boyfriend Adi is driving. We were on our way to the camp we booked called Lower Sabie Rest Camp. We have been told we need to be back at the camp before sunset.
"There was only one way to reach there. The road max speed was 50, we had to drive slowly. Then suddenly we saw this huge male elephant in front of us, in the middle of the road. He was alone and he was walking. Then he saw us, turned, and all of a sudden he decided to run straight towards us. We had to put the car in reverse for a few minutes because he was just sometimes running a little bit towards us.
"Adi did a good job being so calm, and always keeping a good distance with the elephant. Anyways, the elephant didn't want to leave us alone he walked into the bush, and we were just waiting until we can drive past him.
"Lots of comments on my TikTok were asking why we didn't drive forward when the elephant entered the bushes. The reason is that the elephant was still very very close to the road, we had a very sh**** rental car, and I guess it was not really safe at the point if we reverse to go to the front... in the end, we did it!
"I was the whole time shocked, didn't think he was gonna really chase us. When he first run into us, I had the image in my head already that he is going to flip our car away. We had really a small car, and I think the elephant also thinks us small but not all elephants are like this. We meet also other elephants on the road but they were very relaxed.
"Elephants are cool animals, and I still love them!"
Li and Adi's thrilling encounter has racked up 15.4 million views on TikTok.
