Hayley Mills was born in the 1940s to two show-business professionals. Her father was an actor, while her mother was a screenwriter. Hayley’s first gig as an actor would come when she was only a baby, appearing in one of her father’s films. Despite this, the young girl’s parents were initially hesitant to let her follow in their footsteps. At the age of 12, Hayley was playing at home while her father and a notable director were practicing lines for a film in the other room. Hayley was playing loudly, and the game that she was playing saw her parodying notable television commercials.
The director could hear Hayley Mills in the other room, but he wasn’t annoyed. Instead, he was enamored with her zest! He convinced her parents to let her appear in the film that he and her father were working on. This led to Hayley signing a contract with Walt Disney.
