Few shows make it past their first season. Even fewer manage to stay on the air for nearly a decade. It might hard to believe but it's been 40+ long years since we first got acquainted with the girls of Eastland Girls School on TV's The Facts Of Life. The stars of this beloved sitcom which ran from 1979 to 1988 reunited at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills in 2014 to celebrate the show's momentous 35th-anniversary milestone and to reminisce about the ups and downs of working on a TV series for nine consecutive seasons.

Mindy Cohn, the actress who portrayed the ever-so-spunky Natalie Green gave an interview with TODAY where she recalled how her castmates and the show they were a part of were a guilty pleasure of sorts for many fans who watched the series from start to finish. She further expressed her delight that she and her peers all aged so gracefully – growing into legitimately cool people in their adult years.
Charlotte Rae, who played housemother Mrs. Garret, also came out for the reunion event. So did Nancy McKeon, who played the unapologetically tom-boyish Jo Pilniaczek, Lisa Whelchel, who played the snobby rich princess Blair Warner, and Geri Jewell who was actually the first major actor with cerebral palsy to get a chance to take part in a TV series when she signed on to play Blair's cousin Geri. The only star missing from the reunion even was Kim Fields, who played Tootie Ramsey. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to make it but she did send a prerecorded video message to all of her former castmates and her legion of fans.
For the reunion, these women held very little back – revealing surprising secrets about the endearing coming-of-age comedy that very few had previously been privy to.
