Danny DeVito is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who started to gain fame for his portrayal of the taxi dispatcher Louie De Palma in the television series Taxi, between 1978 and 1983. The role won him a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award and marked the beginning of a very prolific career.
You might recognize him from his numerous films, and more recently, his ongoing role as Frank Reynolds on the sitcom "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".
On January 17, 1971, DeVito met Rhea Perlman when she went to see a friend in the single performance of the play The Shrinking Bride, which featured DeVito. They moved in together only two weeks later and married on January 28, 1982. Even though they have three children together, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman called it quits on their marriage in 2017, but the pair remain in each other's lives after spending 46 years as a couple.
In 2017 he earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's The Price. DeVito and Michael Shamberg founded Jersey Films. Soon afterward, Stacey Sher became an equal partner. The production company is known for films such as Pulp Fiction, Garden State, and Freedom Writers.
