Edgar Rice Burroughs was the author who first introduced the character of Tarzan to the audience of The All-Story Magazine in an issue that was published in 1912. Soon after his popularity in print, Hollywood decided that this well-known fictitious figure deserved to be adapted for the big screen. This decision was made shortly after his triumph in print. It was a tremendous hit, and it provided Hollywood with a new hero who has ever since enthralled audiences all over the world. The immense popularity of the Tarzan series can be partially attributed to the many actors that played the role of Tarzan while wearing the loincloth. Tarzan made his initial appearance in print in the April 1912 issue of All-Story Magazine. The character did not make his film debut until 1918. The majority of the actors on this list once competed at the Olympic level and earned a significant amount of hardware for their efforts.
