Father Knows Best followed the exploits of the Anderson family. Elinor Donahue played the family’s daughter, whose name was Betty. When Elinor received the role of Betty Anderson, she was 17 years old. However, she had already been performing in the entertainment industry for over a decade. Elinor started out as a child performer with MGM, though the roles that she was being offered began to dry up significantly as she entered her teen years.
