The four founding members of the band were Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, and Tommy Ramone. These were four friends with unique personalities who all happened to meet each other at Forest Hills High Schools in New York.

Sadly, we now have to live with the Ramones members’ deaths – all who died rather early and from tragic circumstances. But in addition to learning about the Ramones members’ deaths, we must understand their early lives and their incredible achievements.

Joey Ramone grew up loving rock music as a young man – especially The Beatles and The Stooges. He was influenced by these British and American bands and dreamt of one day becoming a rock star himself. He was a drummer and vocalist.

Johnny Ramone struggled at first to make it as a musician, having to focus on his day job as a plumber until he made it with The Ramones. However, today he is remembered as the band’s vocalist and one of the greatest rock performers of all time.

Dee Dee Ramone had a troubled childhood growing up in Germany. After his parents separated, he moved with his mother and siblings to Forest Hills, New York. When he met his friends in school, his life took a turn for the better. He’s still remembered as one of the most influential punk rock artists of all time – overshadowing his personal struggles.

Tommy Ramone exemplifies the American Dream. He and his parents were immigrants from Hungary. Little did he know that he’d grow up to become an icon of American culture. He was a talented artist and entrepreneur.
