She was initially hesitant to get romantically involved with the up-and-coming crooner but eventually found herself won over by his charms.

Dixie Lee’s last film role was in 1935, after which she stepped back from her acting career to take care of her and Bing's children. Throughout their marriage, Dixie Lee and Bing had four kids. By the end of the 1930s, Bing had greatly surpassed Dixie Lee in terms of fame. He could easily provide for his family on his own, allowing Dixie Lee time to stay home and take care of the kids. Sadly, Bing being away working so much inspired Dixie Lee to turn to the bottle. Dixie Lee was soon a full-fledged alcoholic.
In 1948, Dixie Lee and Bing Crosby separated for a short period of time before reconciling. However, after the reconciliation, something else would come along to tear the two apart. In 1952, Dixie Lee passed away from cancer at the age of only 41. There’s no denying that Bing was devastated, though he would go on to remarry before the end of the ensuing decade.
