Bob Denver’s arrest for marijuana possession occurred in 1998. After accidentally telling the police that Dawn Wells had sent him the ounce of marijuana in the mail, Bob changed his tune once her realized that the authorities were going to then try to turn him against her on the stand. Bob went on to claim that Dawn had nothing to do with the ounce of marijuana. The television star ended up serving six months of probation and never appeared on television again. In 2005, he passed away at the age of 70.
A few years after Bob’s death, Dawn Wells herself was arrested for marijuana possession. Dawn claimed that the marijuana she was in possession of wasn’t hers, but a sobriety test that she was subjected to afterward suggested otherwise.
