Folk-rock pioneer David Crosby, best known for being a founding member of two immensely popular and influential 60s bands, The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, has died at the age of 81. The news of the singer-songwriters passing first broke shortly after his passing on January 19, 2023. At time time, there's no word on the cause of his death other than that he had been suffering from some sort of illness for quite some time.

There really is no understating just how important Crosby was to the world of folk and rock music. Crosby, Stills and Nash – later retooled as Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young – put out some of the most iconic and groundbreaking albums and hit singles of the late 60s and 70s.

Some of Crosby's many contributions included the songs Lady Friend, Why, Eight Miles High, Wooden Ships, Almost Cut My Hair, and Deja Vu. But really, if you were to take a look back at his entire musical career and catalog, pretty much everything that he helped create by putting pen to paper and giving his all in the studio was pure gold.

Crosby and his musical co-conspirators, sold millions of records worldwide, filled countless venues to maximum capacity, and were honored with more awards and accolades then you can imagine. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame, not once, bnt twice, and a staggering five albums that he worked on have been included in Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

It's more than evident that Crosby was a musical genius, but he was also an extremely influential – not to mention charismatic - figure in the counter-cultural movement of the 60s. He was unaplogetically outspoken when it came to politics and devoted much of his time, money, and energy to raising awareness for various humanitarian issues. In this fact-packed video, we'll pay homage to one of music's most beloved icons. David Crosby may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
