Clark Gable was born in Ohio, and his dyslexia made it so that he had trouble in school. He dropped out at the age of 16 and started working in a tire factory. However, a chance viewing of a play would introduce a new passion into Clark’s life that would change the course of his future. Clark fell in love with acting around the time of his coming of age and began acting in local theater productions. After getting some experience locally, he made his way out to Portland, Oregon.
Portland, Oregon, is where Clark met his first wife. Clark’s first wife was nearly two decades his senior, and she saw a lot of promise in him. This woman’s name was Josephine Dillon, and she started grooming Clark to become a star. The two moved out to Hollywood and Clark tried getting roles in the film. However, there was still more work that needed to be done in transforming the actor before he was screen-worthy.
Clark Gable divorced from his first wife and moved on to a second wife that was still nearly two decades his senior.
