Although Carol may be living a life of luxury now, she has been through some hard times. Carol was born to alcoholic parents and subsequently raised by her grandmother. Carol’s grandmother moved her out to Hollywood and passed along a passion for Golden Age cinema, a passion that came into play when Carol was choosing a career.
Carol studied theater in college and married her college sweetheart, who was also an aspiring actor. The two moved out to New York City together in hopes of finding mutual success. However, their marriage fell apart when Carol started becoming a good deal more successful. She divorced and remarried a year later, to a man that would eventually go on to produce The Carol Burnett Show.
Currently, Carol is married to her third husband, and the two live together in Montecito, Santa Barbara. Nearing the age of 90, Carol likes to keep as active as possible and seems to be doing fairly well for herself, with upcoming tour dates scheduled for 2002 after previously having been canceled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
