Brooke Shields’ mother was an actress by the name of Teri Shields. When Brooke was just a baby, Teri decreed that she was going to make her famous. Sadly, Teri wasn’t all that scrupulous about how her baby was going to achieve her fame. In 1975, when Brooke was only 10, her mother allowed her to be photographed nude for a magazine by name of Sugar and Spice. Two years later, Brooke played a child prostitute in the 1978 Louis Malle film Pretty Baby.

Released in 1980, The Blue Lagoon was a major hit with audiences despite being lambasted by critics. Despite the fact that Brooke was only 14 years old at the time, her character was nude throughout the majority of the feature. For scenes with graphic nudity, a body double was used. For the rest of her character’s scenes, Brooke used tape to obscure her genitalia.
