On August 19th, 2020 our Newport Coastal Adventure Fast Raft Boats encountered a playful pod of bottlenose dolphin. These dolphin are extremely intelligent, and often will swim next to our boat and play in the wake (waves we create when moving through the water). This particular bottlenose dolphin decided he wanted some high flying action, leaping 10ft into the air multiple times to the delight of everyone onboard. Now, these dolphin are not small by any means, in fact they are much larger than an average sized person, weighing in at 1,300lbs and reaching lengths of up to 12ft long! To imagine that these guys are able to hurl their bodies out of the water with such effortlessness is incredible, but actually seeing it with your own eyes is something these passengers will never forget!
Our whale watching tours depart in Southern California all year long. Our tours are 2-2.5hrs in length with multiple departure times each day. Our whale watching boats have larger passenger vessels, as well as smaller 6-15 passenger fast raft tours.
