It was in 1949 that David White made his Broadway debut, and television roles followed in the ensuing decade. David White had acted on several notable television series before being given his iconic role as Larry Tate on the show Bewitched in 1964. David went on to portray the character over the course of the series’ entire run, with the show lasting until 1972. After the series came to an end, David continued acting for over a decade before tragedy struck.
The first tragedy that struck David White in his personal life was the death of his first wife while she was carrying their second child. This left David a single father of the couple’s surviving son. David went on to remarry and had a daughter. David thought tragedy was behind him, but this didn’t turn out to be the case. In 1988, son Jonathan died in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103.
