While it’s one of the best shows of the 90s, it took us back to a decade that perhaps we felt nostalgic about – and maybe even preferred! The show’s success ultimately came from the excellent cast, whose chemistry on screen made it the masterpiece that we remember. Yet, behind this façade, there was a lot of drama on the set of That 70s Show.
For example, did you know that Mila Kunis lied about her age in order to snag her role as Jackie in That 70s Show? She had to be at least 18 in order to appear in the show but she was only 14! She stated that she was going to turn 18 soon, not telling them that it was actually 4 years in the future! She didn’t confess this until 2012 when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
But that was hardly the only behind-the-scenes drama on the set of That 70s Show. One of the show's stars Topher Grace, who played Eric Foreman – is reprising his role in the new sequel, That 90s Show. But did you know that the producers initially wanted to replace Topher Grace altogether? He wanted to leave the show after the 7th season, and producers seriously considered having a different actor play Eric.
While the show lasted quite a while, there were a few frustrations with it's plot – as some felt that it became repetitive and that the stories became less interesting. And now, with the revelations of the accusations against Danny Masterson – one wonders if that has anything to do with the cancellation.
